OUR WORK
Music for all
With the belief that music changes lives, SoundBites works with local governments, businesses, schools, and generous individuals to ensure that music remains accessible and impactful across the Carolinas.
Our work encourages creativity, boosts confidence, and fosters cognitive development through music. We focus especially on underprivileged youth, but our reach continues to grow with needs across South and now North Carolina.
We're on a mission to provide the gift of music to those in need—through access to instruments, quality instruction, and vital funding.
Access to Instruments
SoundBites donates instruments to individuals and organizations who may not be able to acquire them on their own.
Quality Instruction
SoundBites provides teaching grants so that music educators can be resourced.
Vital Funding
SoundBites gives to music education programs in the Carolinas to ensure all students who want to learn music can.
ABOUT SOUNDBITES
Music changes lives
Founded in 2017 by a group of friends in Columbia, South Carolina, SC SoundBites is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization on a mission to provide the gift of music to those in need—through access to instruments, quality instruction, and vital funding.

OUR VISION
That all who strive to create, have the opportunity to create.

OUR MISSION
Provide the gift of music to those in need
Guided by the belief that music changes lives, SoundBites works to ensure that music remains accessible and impactful across the Carolinas.
We aim to bridge the gap where traditional school music programs may fall short—especially when it comes to instruments like guitar, fiddle, banjo, or piano that often lie outside standard curriculums.
In recent years, what began as an effort to help underserved youth has grown into something much broader. Today, SoundBites not only continues to support students and underfunded school music programs, it has expanded its impact to include people of all ages and backgrounds in our community.
TESTIMONIALS
A Few Kind Words from Friends
SoundBites has provided many kids the key to a successful, fun start to their musical path: a quality instrument. The joy that comes from a lifetime of music is immeasurable, and SoundBites really helps kids get started on the right track.

Due to a shortage of guitars within the Guitars 4 Vets program, only limited classes were going to be available for veterans in the Columbia, SC area until next year. This despite an extensive waiting list of vets looking to heal through music. That has now all changed.
Multiple classes are in progress and the first graduates to receive one of SoundBite's generously donated guitars will occur in mid November.
SoundBites doesn't just have my gratitude, they have the gratitude of veterans that have served overseas and now seek the guitar as a path to fellowship and healing. We are helped by playing together and realizing we are not alone in our struggle. Thank you for helping us.

As a former music teacher, music and the arts hold a special place in my heart. I know firsthand the disparities that still exist in our state that prevent many students from being able to participate in and enjoy music. SoundsBites is doing incredible work to bridge the gap and provide students and schools in need with instruments to support our shared goal that every child has the resources needed to pursue their passion.
